RELATABLE
FURNITURE
AUTHENTIC
SPACES
ELEMENT STUDIO DESIGN draws inspiration from Japanese design principles, such as WABI-SABI & KANSO
- philosophies that value simplicity and the quiet beauty found in natural imperfection.
Utilizing these ideas allows a piece of furniture to feel natural, relatable and human in design, rather than cold and mass-produced. It gives a raw & authentic approach to creating REAL objects with soul that can be appreciated and held at the center of your home.
Intentional imperfections are present in the furniture that ELEMENT STUDIO DESIGN produces that reflect honest artisan craft work and gives each piece it’s own individual feel.
Design is guided by purpose, material and proportion, resulting in furniture that feels considered, understated and enduring — thoughtfully designed & built to last.
CONCEPT
MATERIALS
Using only the finest Baltic birch & pine plywood, combined with solid hard woods such as tulip & oak, ELEMENT STUDIO DESIGN blends these natural materials, that give a feeling of depth & warmth, with a raw, weathered steel, to give character & feeling to each individual piece of furniture.
Furniture that is fabricated is always free standing. The principle behind this concept, is that it allows the furniture to be modular in form. So, if you decide to move house, or wish to reconfigure your space, your furniture can be moved too!
Other specialist materials such as Valchromat, Forbo furniture linoleum or clay-based paints can also be added into the mix, to create something not only unique but perfectly reflecting to how you wish to create your space.
Thoughtfully integrated LED lighting can transform cabinetry beyond its functional purpose.
Used subtly, it helps define atmosphere, guide the eye and bring a sense of warmth and depth to a space.
Lighting can be introduced to highlight objects, accentuate materials and shadow lines, or softly illuminate interior storage, enhancing both usability and visual balance.
Carefully considered colour temperature and placement ensure the light feels natural, understated and in harmony with the surrounding environment.
When integrated well, lighting becomes an extension of the furniture itself — enhancing form, drawing focus and shaping the overall feel of the room.
LIGHTING
ELEMENT STUDIO DESIGN also specializes in natural interior plasters made from pigmented clay.
Clay plasters can be applied to most interior walls or surfaces, and allow for many alternative textures, patterns and colours.
It can be polished to create a smooth, reflective surface that shines in natural light, or left in it’s raw, authentic form, showcasing natural beauty.
Opting to use clay not only gives a warm aesthetic to your space but also adds to a pleasant indoor climate.

PROCESS
The process begins with a conversation.
This is where we meet and talk about your requirements for the project, what it is that you are wanting
to achieve, colours, materials & aesthetics.
We’ll explore practical needs such as storage, layout and functionality, alongside visual preferences & and overall feel.
This stage is about understanding your lifestyle and vision, and ensuring the brief is clear before any design work begins.
01
INITIAL CONSULTATION
From the initial discussion, concepts are developed into considered design proposals.
Using sketches, drawings & 3D visualisations, the design is refined collaboratively until the balance of form, function and material feels just right.
Attention is given to proportion, detail and construction, ensuring the final design is both visually striking and built to last.
Once the design is agreed, final specifications, materials and finishes are confirmed.
02
DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
With the design signed off, your piece is hand-crafted in the workshop.
Traditional joinery techniques are combined with modern machinery to achieve precision, strength and refined detailing, while maintaining the character and integrity of handmade furniture.
Only high-quality, responsibly sourced materials are used, and each stage of the build is approached with care and attention to detail.
03
